The Shotty Strategy

Because “shotty” (shotgun) loadouts vary significantly across different multiplayer shooters, the best builds depend on the game you are playing. The most dominant shotgun configurations across major titles focus on maximizing one-shot potential, fire rate, and close-quarters mobility. 🎮 Call of Duty: Warzone & Black Ops

Shotguns in modern Warzone are designed for rapid, aggressive room-clearing or devastating one-shot capabilities at point-blank range.

The Broken Fire Meta (SG12 / KV Broadside): Focuses on massive area denial and blinding opponents using incendiary rounds.

Muzzle: Modified Choke / Infantry Choke (tightens pellet spread)

Barrel: Long Barrel / Reinforced Heavy (increases damage range)

Laser: Pulse Fire Tack Light / Tactical Laser (boosts hip-fire accuracy)

Ammunition: 12-Gauge Dragon’s Breath (adds continuous fire damage)

Stock: Combat Stock (increases movement and sprint-to-fire speed)

The High-Mobility Pump (Marine SP / Lockwood): A high-risk, high-reward configuration that relies on landing a single devastating chest shot. Build it with a Long Barrel, Rapid Fire Mod, and Combat Stock to quickly reset between engagements. 🤠 Hunt: Showdown 1896

Shotgun loadouts in Hunt emphasize flexibility, wall-penetration, and reliable secondary weapons to cover mid-to-long ranges.

The Double-Barrel Pressure Build (Caldwell Rival 78 + Caldwell Pax): Designed to quickly punish positioning mistakes by firing two rapid shots without reloading.

Primary: Caldwell Rival 78 with standard Buckshot or Slugs (Slugs maximize clean, one-tap potential).

Secondary: Caldwell Pax Trueshot or Scotfield Spitfire (provides rapid, accurate medium-ammo follow-ups if targets try to flee outside of room distance).

The Long-Range One-Tap (Romero 77 / Winfield Slate + Caldwell Conversion Uppercut): The Romero 77 features the tightest default spread and best base one-shot range in the game. Pairing it with an Uppercut pistol ensures you can still fight effectively across compound courtyards.
